Let me start by telling you my life story.
I was a lonely child…
No, let’s skip that. And I wasn’t. I was a chubby kid who liked horror films.
Anyway…
Three experiences changed my life.
First, I had a spontaneous awakening to my true nature when I was 13. I had no idea what had happened. What I did know, beyond any doubt, that this personality is not all there is to being human.
Second, I got really depressed and broken-hearted when I was 18, and wanted to find a way to be free from the suffering.
Third, after not knowing what to do with my life, I enrolled into university to study Comparative Religion, Philosophy and Psychology.
Then I found the Integral theory of Ken Wilber.
I was immediately hooked by his grand vision—the “marriage of sense and soul,” a true “theory of everything.” I got my PhD on “Ken Wilber as a Spiritual Innovator”—the first doctoral dissertation on Wilber’s philosophy in the field of Comparative Religion.
Since 2010 I have worked as a coach and consultant with a wide range of organizations across multiple industries—across different stages of growth, cultures, and contexts, both in Finland and internationally.
I am certified by Integral Coaching Canada, the world’s premier coaching school – in the first cohort of European coaches, trained by founders Joanne Hunt and Laura Divine in 2009.
I have written seven commercially published books and edited one academic volume. They cover topics ranging from leadership and self-help to applied philosophy.
My new book, How to Go from 7 to 9 – Dr. JP’s Guide to Reducing Suffering and Leading from the Inside Out, will be published later this year.
I also have a (very cool) office on a remote island on the west coast of Finland—the happiest country for nine years in a row.
